Furnaces should last for 10, 15, or 20 years. So why are you having problems only a couple of years after it's installed? In this episode of In the House, we talk about how you can know if your furnace is being installed correctly. We’ll also go over some questions to ask a potential company.
A lot of getting a good installation is going to be preliminary work. Part of that is getting multiple bids to find a company that you trust to do the job right. And when you have those companies over, remember there’s often a reason why someone is lower priced than everyone else.
Also, it’s a good idea to ask questions when you’re looking for the right fit. Do you have a duct sizing specialist? Could you show me how you figure out the right size? What happens if something goes wrong in 5 years? Questions like these can help you know if they stand behind their product.
In general, it’s important to do your due diligence when preparing to buy a new furnace. Taking your time, asking around, and pulling up google reviews will all give you useful information to find the right fit for you and your budget. And thinking hard about what you want out of a new furnace will help you end up with the most comfortable home temperature.
