The Difference Between Clearing vs Cleaning Your Drains

Enjoy this episode! The guys have a fun time at first. Then we wrap up the show with some information on cleaning and clearing your drains. We go over the difference between the two and why you might pick each option. If you want to focus on the info, skip to 14:15.
When a lot of people think of drain cleaning, they think of snakes. But drain snakes have a different job. A drain snake is a metal, coiled rod that pokes a hole in the blockage. All that does is allow the water to go down. A drain cleared with a snake has a lot of stuff still in it that can cause more backups.
If you want to really clean your pipes, you need to look into hydrojetting. A hydrojetter is a water hose that guides a nozzle through the blockage. That nozzle has sprayers on it that scour the walls of that pipe clean. A cleaned drain is opened all the way back up which will last you a lot longer.
When you’re dealing with a sink or other drain backing up on you, it can be useful to understand each option. That way you can work with your technician to choose the one that’s best for you right now. It can also be good to remember that a low-price option is often going to be a drain snake. Drain cleaning can be a little more expensive to get a much better outcome.
